"The. Best. Korma. I wish I had a bigger stomach my curry was divine, wished my naan was bigger but small fry when I'm trying to shovel my curry and rice and garlic naan in as quick as possible to inhale the flavour. Should note it was the downstairs kitchen not sure if that matters. Five year later edit: still great. Butter chicken for me and beef vindaloo for SO. Very happy it's still good."

"I ran in here on a whim for lunch and said ohh gosh what am I getting into… the Rogan Josh was decent enough with a great amount of meat, gravy and rice! The naan bread was cold but who’s complaining it was still good! The girl who served me was smiling and helpful. The price was good too. Maybe all the bad reviews helped them get their act together? I don’t know but I’m happy."

"Under new management. Of the many butter chickens I've had this is hands down the best in taste and amount. The food doesn't leave you feeling ill because they've balanced the richness and the naan bread is fresh and soft. The new management has had a great emphasis on service as well so you have friendly and knowledgeable staff that can recommend if you are adventurous in taste and spicyness. Give them a go you won't be disappointed. They also now manage the one upstairs in the Westfield. Locally owned and operated. Support them."

"My fourth visit to a Shamiana food court stand, one of the better ones I've been to. I got the curry, rice, naan and drink combo for NZ$15.50. Good level of spice in the beef vindaloo, rice was well cooked, naan wasn't the greatest. Would return again."

"Cant always gaurantee its perfect but the Lamb Madras is delicious. Love lamb curries, its the only time I can afford to eat lamb and at Shamiana, there is always plenty of it."

"All their curries are gluten free and so delicious. Their butter chicken hasnt changed in years and it's absolutely delicious everytime I come to Christchurch I need to swing by Shamiana for my favourite butter chicken. I didn't get sick either!"
